Our stay was most welcoming relaxed romantic enjoyable over night stay surrounded in such wonderful countryside we could have wished for....
The food in the restaurant was very good, lovely setting and local area, spa was very nice.
Bed was very hard and the evening food service wasnt the best, orders wrong etc.., end bill was wrong because managers hadnt told spa of 25% off deals. very noisy doors too!!
The breakfast was great and the spa was superb!
I like the Spa and the location which is good for hill walking
Nothing I didn't like. The evenings were a bit dull so we went into town.
On arrival we discovered there had been a mix-up and the superior room we had booked was unavailable, however the receptionist kindly upgraded us to a junior suite and apologised for the inconvenience. Room was lovely, breakfast great and spa really soothing. Highly recommended
pleasant location, beautiful scenery, restaurant superb, ideal facilities
The room was very clean and fully stocked with all facilities that were advertised such as hairdryer, iron and trouserpress.
Although very clean, the room was of tired decor and in need of some basic improvements. The card 'holder' to enable the room lights to work was almost completely broken and required some spontaneous ingenuity.
We found staff helpful. location was excellent. the experience felt good value for money. bedroom and c ommon areas were good.
The dining room & food was very nice & the staff were friendly & willing to direct to places of interest
Receptionist was inclined to be a little curt
preacful hotel good service
Position of room tv
A comfortable good value hotel located on the way to the ferry boat
Not hotel's fault but mobile phone reception poor
i loved the family feel to the hotel and the attention to detail. The staff didn't have cheesy slogans or engage in conversation because they felt they had to. I had a few conversations and each one was like speaking to an old friend, genuine warmness and an individuality.
The Spa was cold due to a technical problem and this was the main reason we picked the hotel. Anyway, after a moan to staff we were refunded with some money and the good far outweighed the bad so it didn't put us off staying again.
The staff were all very efficient and friendly.
The bedroom was in need of redecoration as the wallpaper was peeling off in places. The bathroom also needs attention, both for decorating and convienience I.E. the loo roll holder was beyond reach. The bedroom chairs were not very comfortable to sit and relax after an evening out.
The staff were superb, from reception to bar to breakfast. Support for a tv problem was almost immediate, the food and servicing in the bar and the breakfast was impressive. Breakfast in particular was an enjoyable experience. It was really close to the town so we could leave the car and use our shoes.
The shower needs an update - hot water was a bit of a premium and tv needs a bit of an upgrade. WiFi had been down for a "mysterious" couple of weeks and only worked in a limited space, but nice surroundings.
This weas our second visit it was fab hotel/spa lovely location, freindly staff especially at breakfast(waitress Mary) at reception, bar staff good .value keep prices at same level will definattly come again
